Hello,

Message from our Co-Regional Leaders

K9 & Coco

In the Spring of 2022, women from Naperville and surrounding towns of all ages and fitness levels, most who never met before, came together on several chilly mornings for free, peer-led, outdoor workouts in the glow of the dawn. Together, we found something we all needed. At the time, no one knew exactly what that was or what it would become, but we knew it was special.

That spring, women took turns stepping outside their comfort zones to lead each other through workouts, most for the very first time. But it wasn’t just about the workouts. We pushed our bodies, minds, and hearts to places they had not been before. Women lifted one another up; held each other accountable; and formed bonds and friendships. Together, we grew stronger in all aspects of our lives and became a community that has shaped us to be better, stronger women. With new members every week, we proudly continue to grow that community. We are FiA Naperville! Established June 11, 2022.

FiA Naperville is more than just a workout...
It's a group of Women who empower each other in every aspect of life.

Rain or Shine. All Year Long. You vs. You.

FiA Lexicon:

Our common "lingo"

AO: Area of Operation, or the location of the workout (see schedule at right).

Q: The leader of a given workout, or any other FiA event. Derivation - "Qrusader in charge"

PAX: Members in attendance at a workout or event

Pre-Blast: A post on Slack explaining what to expect from the next day's workout. Includes the location and meeting place, what to bring, and anything else the Q wants you to know. PAX respond in the thread to HC.

HC: Abbreviation for Hard Commit - as in "Yes, I will be there!" This helps the Q plan for the workout.

EC: "Extra Credit" Some PAX choose to come early to a workout or stay afterward to burn some extra calories. Watch the pre-blast to see what the EC crew plans for the day and see if you want to join in!

Back Blast: A write-up of what happened during a workout from the workout Q.

CofFiA: When Pax gather post-workout for coffee, chatter and fellowship

Name-O-Rama: The part of the COT where PAX announce their birth name, age and FiA name.

Convergence: The act of bringing together FiA's typically from different sites or regions for workouts or other events.

Black Ops: An unofficial workout, especially when checking out a possible new AO.

Cadence: Exercises done on a 4 count command by the Q with a call-and-respond format. Example is Q shouts "1, 2, 3: 1... 1, 2, 3 : 2... 1, 2, 3: 3..."

COT: Circle of Trust
A key part at the end of every FiA workout. Circle of Trust involves PAX congregating in a circle post beatdown for attendance count, Name-o-rama, announcements, and closing statment sending FiA's off with uplifting positive thoughts.

Black Diamond

The hardest workout you will find in FiA Naperville. Days and locations vary. Expect intensity that you don’t get from your every day FiA workout.

A Black Diamond (BD) will be a full 1-hour workout designed to be non-stop and INTENSE the entire workout with minimal to no designated breaks! These will be a pop-up option offered in addition to our usual weekly scheduled workouts. For Black Diamonds, there will be continuous movement (think running and covering mileage) mixed in with challenging (and potentially non-traditional) exercises of the Qs choosing that will keep your heart rate up the whole time, fatigue your muscles, and push you to your limit! They will be designed to make you dig deep each time and see what you are made of. These will be rotating days and locations so watch the Q schedule and socials!
